Smart Management your Intelligent Transportation System (ITS)

In recent years, thanks to the rapid development of networking devices, high performance and high-definition IP cameras are installed in every corner in metropolitan areas with ease and simplicity. By analyzing real-time or recorded video images received, the government can fight against violence or any sort of terrorist attacks in a more efficient and effective way with less cost and manpower supports. However, when it comes to highway surveillance implementation, the situation becomes more complex. Unlike surveillance implementation in urban areas, highway runs across many cities. Thus, frequent policeman patrolling is not realistic since it needs more manpower supports and is not efficient enough when an emergent event occurs. Recently, manual highway toll collection system has been replaced by electronic or automatic one thanks to the rapid development of various technologies. Compared with the manual highway toll collection system, electronic highway toll collection system allows road users to keep driving without stopping when entering the toll lane. Therefore, the total travelling time can be shortened and air pollution can be decreased. Moreover, the decrease of human intervention at the toll lane can also reduce human error and increase efficiency when collecting tolls.

Intersection Monitoring Solution

In a city or town, intersections are usually the busiest places where minor or severe road accidents occur frequently. To tackle this issue, city governments are increasingly installing various monitoring systems at intersections so as to effectively reduce traffic accidents and at the same time to strengthen road safety. Intersection monitoring systems including the use of PoE IP surveillance cameras, traffic flow sensors and traffic controllers, are able to record traffic images, count the number of passing cars and record car speed or to be reviewed for accident footage. However, these end devices are incapable of Ethernet transmissions. Therefore, they need to be used with PoE-supported Ethernet Switches so that a secure intersection monitoring solution can be built up. When choosing the right intersection monitoring devices, there are several challenges that need to be considered.

PoE Powered Office Automation

The concept of modernized enterprise office is heavily leveraged high speed network environment more and more. It becomes the challenge of the IT department of enterprise for the office layout. It’s not only for artistic and orderly purpose but also the centralized management and IP based structured cabling to be considered. Mobile Fronthaul and Backhaul Solution

This application will illustrate how to transport Common Public Radio Interface (CPRI) or Open Base Station Architecture Initiative (OBSAI) channels over one fiber fronthaul link using Coarse Wavelength Multiplexing (CWDM) then integrating into IP Ethernet based carrier network as mobile backhaul transportation solution for mobile operator.

CPRI and OBSAI over CWDM Fronthaul to Cell Towers

This application illustrates how to transport four Common Public Radio Interface (CPRI) channels over one fiber fronthaul link using Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM).

IP Backbone Transportation for Broadband Access Network

In this application example, the PON technology remains one of the most popular deployment scenarios for FTTX in the world today. To meet network and subscriber management requirements, the OLT equipment at the central site will always require communication with subscriber management equipment such as DHCP server, provisioning server or NMS based over IP. Connecting the OLT equipment to the Ethernet demarcation device simplifies the deployment to transport the traffic over the Metro Ethernet network.

Business Connection Service

The network interface device (NID) is a kind of equipment which works as the concept of Ethernet service demarcation defined by MEF (Metro Ethernet Forum). The carrier operators or service providers can deploy NID to enterprise subscribers then provide the point-to-point E-Line or multipoint-to-multipoint E-LAN service which is logically Ethernet virtual connection to replace the legacy TDM based lease line service.

Integrated Copper and Fiber Connection for Campus Network

In this application example, CTC Union ‘s FE and GbE media converters are deployed in a star topology network with Multiple fiber links distributed from a central location. CTC Union’s Ethernet media converters provide copper-to-fiber conversion for data rates of 10 Mbps up to 1000Mbps.
