The FRM220 Platform Media Chassis features non-intrusive in-band management for all protocols. Currently supported NIDs (Network Interface Devices) are 10/100Base Etherent (TS1000 hybrid in-band), 10/100Base Ethernet (802.3ah), Gigabit Ethernet (802.3ah), E1/T1 (G.703/704) over fiber, FXO/FXS Voice over fiber converters, STM-1/OC3 (155M) Optical converter/Repeater card, Serial (RS-485/422/232) over fiber, Hi-speed (up to 9M) Synchronous/Asynchronous Data (V.35, RS-530/449,X.21) over fiber, and Inverse Multiplexer for Ethernet over 5,8,or16 E1 via GFP-F protocol. Other option cards include E1/T1 Cross Rate converter, 2.7G 3R transponder (3R repeater), 10G 3R transponder (3R repeater), and a 4xE1/T1+100M Ethernet Fiber Optical Multiplexer card.

The FRM220A with integrated GbE aggregate switch is the latest member added to our demo set.
The chassis features 100/1000M backplane uplink from supported line cards. Four copper and four SFP gigabit Ethernet connections provide aggregate to uupstream network devices.
